Default West India Regiment - Slider Holder

Just acquired this example of a West India Regiment cap badge in bimetal which came complete with a "slider holder" made from sheet brass with 8 stitch holes and long enough to hold a 60mm slider.

Grateful for information on the headdress this was designed for and the period of use. Edwards shows the badge as 1958 and other threads show that it was also made in anodised aluminium.

Hi Tim,
Some nice pics there, with that unusual slider holder!
The West Indies Regt was indeed made for issue in gold & silver a/a. The makers name was J.R Gaunt London.
I will try and post a pic of the badge tomorrow if you wish.
Regards
UKbrits

Hi Guys,
Here are the pics of the W.I Regt cap badge as promised.

The slider holder is interesting, I have never seen anything like it before! Perhaps it was locally made?

Regards

Thanks ukbrits,
54Bty comments that the slider holder is for inside the RA/RHA Busby and holds the plume holder.

Not exactly what I wrote, but, it can be found on the outside of the RA Busby to fit the shank of plume holder into, (Grenade type).
