Default Albany Mounted Volunteers

Welcome any thoughts on the following pouch badge.

I have a view that the following is a pouch badge for the Albany Mounted Volunteers.

ALBANY MOUNTED VOLUNTEERS
Also known as the Albany Mounted Volunteer Corps. Consisted in August, 1877, of 4 officers, 3 sgts., 2 cpls, 42 privates and 2 buglers armed with 50 short carbines and 54 swords. CO was Captain T. E. Minto (later commanded 3rd Regt. Cape Yeomanry).
