Default Pupes and Candy Stripers

Hello

Does anyone know when the SAAF changed from the designation/rank of Pupil Pilot (P/P) to Candidate Officers (CO)?

I am also interested to know more about the cap bands and shoulder tapes worn over the years. By the 1980s COs wore white bands but photographs from the 1960s have striped bands on caps and shoulders. What colour were the stripes (light blue and black?)?

During WW2 different coloured cap bands were also worn depending on the phase of training. Can anyone confirm the colours and when what was worn?

Thanks
