RCN Sweetheart Pin

I rediscovered a pin in my wife's button collection. I had forgot about this, my wife and I have do not have a family connection to the RCN so no idea where it came from. Any ideas?

Hello Bob,

I collect the RCN sweetheart pins & jewellery as a sideline to my main RCN collection & have about a dozen of these pins in various forms & designs.
Some examples have engraving on them as well.
ie: 'To Julia, Love Bill' or something to that effect.
They are really quite nice I think. I just added another to my small collection yesterday.

They are not really expensive (most go in the $10-20 range, depends upon what it is & how intricate the design is, & if gold or silver)

I dont have any photos of them but I will try to take some & post.

If you might be considering of moving your pin on I am definitely interested.

& here are three examples from the Great war - RNCVR pins - they are in reality lapel pins, however I class them the same as Sweetheart pins.....

the lapel pins are frequently marked with the makers firm & sterling if they are silver as most are, altho one example I have is gold filled.
