Default BFS BADGE

Hi, can anyone help identify as to what this badge is. I found it in a large collection of cap badges that belonged to my father but have no idea as to what it is and cannot find any information anywhere.

British Frontier Service, they worked the border between West and East Germany. Pretty sure there is a thread on here some place. I do know there are a few albums with variations of the badge displayed.

(If you decide to get rid I am interested.)

Could you post a picture of the back, please. I am interested to see if the manufacturing is the same as my example.

Cheers,

Phil

The badge in the post appears cast whereas the Ebay one is die stamped. Just an observation

Born from the Control Commission Germany it was first titled
Frontier Control Service 1946-1949, then Frontier Inspection Service 1949-1955 and became British Frontier Service in 1955 until 1991 when the wall came down and was no longer required. They wore a Naval style uniform.
No picture for F.I.S. The B.F.S. has been seen in gilding metal, white metal and anodised. And from the next post now cast.

Searching for BFS images I came across this interestingly dressed subaltern receiving a briefing from a BFS officer - an AAC 2Lt undergoing his mandatory Infantry Attachment with 1 R Irish perhaps? Mike
