Default Cotswolds?

Hello boys and girls.

I am going to be around the Cotswolds area from Monday to Thursday morning.

Any suggestion on museums or shops which I should visit? I collect mainly First World War items.

I was hoping to visit the Tank Museum but the plan sadly is not going to materialise...neither is my plan to visit the National Archives to find out more about my medals (info not available online, need to pay personal visit). I am hoping to visit the IWM. I went in June. Ran out of time, didn't get to see any of Ashcroft's VCs...

Thanks in advance.

Hi.
Some suggestions:

GLOUCESTER: The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum is at Gloucester Docks - covers Glosters and Royal Glos Hussars.

WOODSTOCK, OXON: Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum, Park Street, Woodstock, OX20 1SN - Ox & Bucks LI, Queens Own Ox.Hussars

CHELTENHAM: Q&C Militaria is at 22 SUFFOLK ROAD · CHELTENHAM · GLOUCESTERSHIRE · GL50 2AQ.

WORCESTER: Worcs Regt & Worcs Yeo at the City Museum & Art Gallery, Worcester

Also the JetAge Museum at Meteor Business Park, Cheltenham Road East, Gloucester GL2 9QL

Unfortunately, seems Snowshill Manor (NT) is shut all week. It has a collection of Japanese Samurai armour at Snowshill Manor.

Enjoy!
Clive

Worth trying local Antique Centres and Antique Fairs if there are any.General antique dealers often don't know the value of military items ( mind you when I look at some militaria websites I don't think some militaria dealers do either).

Enjoy your day.

There is some military material in the a Witney & District Museum, 75 High Street, Witney, although the museum will not be open until after Easter.
