231 (Malta) Inf Bde (of WW2). Yours is much better made than most local productions so I hope that it's genuine! Two of my examples attached. Mike

Thanks Mike

I do have a 231st Independent Bde, which we have covered, however with the one I have shown I don't get that WWII feel.

Embroidered on felt stiff backing

Would you say its British or Maltese made?

Mine is the same as Lettman & GTB (below thread) so I am more than happy if it is 231st Independent Bde or could it be for 231st Brigade, 50th Northumbrian Normandy?

Could this badge belong to the German organisation Maltester Hilfdienst?

That's an interesting idea, but is the white border an integral part of the German NGO design?

The white border is part of the Malteser Hilfdienst badge. I have seen enamelled badges without white border.
All it takes is a pair of scissors. The upper edge of the badge in this thread seems cut.

Thanks for the replies.

FS is 5.58 cm x 5.0 cm.

Its been cut either by scissors or die cut.

Interesting thought!Maybe a collector did do this on purpose?

cheers
