Default Manchester Regiment B/M Lambourne

Good evening. Nice looking badge but what do you think? The Lambourne mark does not have an underscore O, but, unlike others that I've seen, the O is at the top so it may be that the underscore did not get stamped correctly.

Thanks

Martyn

Hi Martyn,

It really is difficult to tell from your picture.

Below are some images of "Lambourne" shanks (sliders) and as you have may have already noted, the stampings are (as with the badges themselves) haphazard at best. As long as it doesn't match the last image, I think you are OK with this badge.

All the best,

Andrew

I have had a rumage through my Manchester Regiment cap badges and dug out my "Lambourne" for you to compare against. Guess what? there would appear to be no underscore on mine either!

Many thanks Andrew. Yes it's very similar to your Manchester and the slider stamping is the same. Hopefully it's ok then.

All the best

Martyn

I think, from the photographs, that can only be an original badge.

As Private Baldrick would say, I'll have a rummage round and see what I can find, I do have several of these, somewhere!
