J.R. Gaunt
Could anyone tell me the exact date when J.R. Gaunt stopped manufacturing badges in London and moved to Birmingham?

Hi Rob,
I can only comment from an A/A perspective but why do you think Gaunt made badges in London? They certainly had admin/sales offices in London from 1918 until I believe 1973 when John R. Gaunt sold up to the Birmingham Mint Group. By 1985 the registered office was: The Mint, Icknield Street, Birmingham, B18 6RX where Gaunt was known as: ‘A subsidiary of The Birmingham Mint PLC’. For actual manufacture as far as I know, again from an A/A perspective only, all was carried out at the Warstone Parade Works, Birmingham. Regards Chris |

Many thanks chaps, sorry my original thread was not too clear, but yes, I wanted to know roughly when the Gaunt London stopped being used on current serving units badges.
