I accept your observation, but in the timeline for the uniform type The 12th Royal Lancers would have worn crossed Lance collars. The POW feathers cap badge and collars for the 12th RL (PoW) were late Victorian.

That cap is post 1907..... that is not a Brodrick with a sewn in peak. In blues I would expect to see a 3DG with the cloth Arm Badge and in khaki with metal.

Further..... and a thought
 Didnt the 3DG have a specific POWFs arm badge for the trumpeter? Taking a look at one of Jerry's close up photos in the other thread its given a bit more detail. I cant see a yellow cloth..... it might also explain the twisted gold shoulder cords? I am not convinced that the metal POWFs shown is the same ...the photo still looks like a cloth/wire badge? I have also put a 3DG Trooper next to it with his dress tunic from the same period ... i think.

3DG Embroidered Arm Badge
Hi Jerry
This is my 3DG full dress Arm Badge. Don't be misled by the circular (slightly moth-eaten) background, this is part of the sleeve. Look closely at the badge and you can see, albeit rather faded, what was once the yellow backing of the 3rd DG. This came with a small selection of metal badges and buttons, all to 3DG, purchased in an antique shop in Marlborough in1963. I hope this helps Best wishes Gordon
