This just in from a very experienced author on uniform:- "His shoulder cords (not straps as per regulation) appear to be of silver and red / blue mixture. I would imagine that these were distinctions of senior NCOs after Denbigh adopted regulation service dress, which is why I think that the photo reflects the dress worn before 1915" We really need another photo from a different angle .... time will tell?

Here is a photo of some members of the Denbighshire Hussars following church parade in 1914.
This clearly shows the bi-metal cap and collar badges worn on the walking out dress. All are welcome to save a copy for personal use and discussion on this forum only, but I have cropped the PPC deliberately so that some information is missing. The Royal Wilts Yeo wore the plain white metal in cap and collar in this pre War period Kevin.
If you take a look at my DHY album you will see the Other Ranks Cap & "BI-METAL" Badge from the period (close up) that's held by the museum in Caernarvon.

Bosleys today
Lot 194 on Bosleys today...... who got it??!!
 I would have gone more if it was complete..... but no blades. Its a badge that confirms my observations and I knew it was out there

Top:- OSD Pre war Cap Badge Lower: SP/Gilt Cap & Collars pre 1903. * There is a silver plate and gilt version with scroll. The scroll is SP so only the coronet is gilt. The badge has un-plated loops E/W.

Gentlemen
The first issue bi-metal cap badge of the Denbighshire Hussars... This is seen also on the 1901 (Officers) and 1902 (Regiment) War Office pattern cards for the DHIY.The museum has sent me these photos today. The 1908 service cap for the Other Ranks. * This is the very same cap that the late Bob Smith took a (out of focus) photo of 30 years ago. ** This badge is also found in "Bronzed" brass with x2 loops E/W.

JUBBLY!! right.... your first pic..... loving the Lambourne & Co (top right), STs spot on. Buttons, left and right = spot on.... middle = I believe is Pembs Yeo. Bronzed Cap badge bottom right ..... not sure of.... but it is bronzed brass and a candidate. Cap badges (left) Brass & White metal...... not sure that the DHY wore this particular POWFs. 361st AA Cap badge by Gaunt. 372nd Flint & Denbigh Collars:- Are they AA? They look in very good condition..... Officers did have silver/gilt. The blackened brass :- I think this is a Gaunt? Having looked at some marked officers of the same. If its Blackened then it has to be a Rifle Regiment.... if its a two part then is it part of a Rifle Vol's Kepi? With loops N/S is it a collar?

That white metal looped E/W is a nice one...... has it got remnants of black paint in the back of it? That other bronzed brass ..... is a chin rubber..... I have seen that used on other Regiments and none of them look as though they have been used. Those FDY collars are mint..... very nice.

In Oct 1914 the 2/1st Denbighshire Yeomanry were ordered not to speak Welsh in their billets..... this caused a huge row between Lloyd George and Kitchener.
