38th Irish Infantry Brigade, 78th Division
A combined sign to the 38th Irish Infantry Brigade serving with the 78th Division: no regimental/battalion device, therefore issued to a member of the Brigade staff? Thank you in advance for your help!

Seems entirely logical to me - worn by members of HQ 38 Inf Bde and any units (other than the three Inf Bns) directly subordinate to the HQ. Mike

Hello Mike, thank you for your reply. Sure, i agree, but on the whole it looks like that there were a greater amount of insignia badged to the brigade headquarter and another brigade units than to any of the three infantry battalions... at least circulating at the present day!
