Greater Manchester Badges...
Simon,
A software issue is preventing me posting all the pictures I have (I cannot edit them down to a loadable size) but here's a taster from small pictures I already have. (Could be adifferent Hyde, of course...) Other still to come are: SW Lancs VR (Headdress), and these mufti badges: Littleborough DC; Reddish VDC; Sale and Ashton CC; Cheadle Hume VDC; Stalybridge VTC; Haughton Green Drill & Rifle Club; Bury CDC; Prestwich & Dist CDC; Manchester City Rifle Club. I'll do a bit of further research, too, and see if I can find any others. Best regards, Tim |

Wiltshire VTC
David,
You're one ahead of me; I only know of 8. There are Headdress badges for Devizes, Malmsbury and Swindon; Mufti badges for Marlborough, Melksham and Trowbridge, and mentions in the Gazette for Chippenham and Wilton. I will admit my town-to-county mapping list is a bit hit and miss; what am I missing? I have all three headdress badges, and Marlborough VTC and Trowbridge Corps, National Guard mufti badges... Best regards, Tim |

Extracts from "The Volunteer Training Corps Gazette " were serialised by Ray Westlake in the MHS Bulletins circa 2013.

Tim I think the missing V T C for the Wiltshire is Warminster -In oct 1918 250 men and officers gathered at Bratton camp The Warminster detail marched there and back a total of 15 miles
