What is a "subdued" embroidered "bullion" badge, surely a contradiction in terms, perhaps you could post an example please?

Subdued bullion usually means without colour; I’ve not got one here to photograph but RN Officer bullion cap badges had ‘jewelling’ (colour) as well as the gold wire. Subdued would be plain bullion.

Again, plain bullion would be rather a contradiction, gold wire, is exactly that, I certainly look forward to a photograph.
