AFC Wing genuine?
Hi there guys
I purchased this AFC wing 25 years ago when I was only starting badge collecting. Now I feel that it may not be genuine. It does not seem to have been worn and is great condition apart from the black felt - condition seems too good. It has a yellow wreath which I have never seen before - would a person trying to fake a wing go away from the normal brown wreath or the green and blue ones that occur rarely? It has passed the black light test and the burn test on the thread but I am not too sure. The photos of the back may be the best way of determining whether it was a 1918 production - I am not sure what the thread should look like on the back. Any thoughts? Kind regards Doug DSC02363.jpg DSC02365.jpg DSC02364.jpg[ATTACH] |

AFC Wing.
Looks like a similar wing which was in the Barry Videon RAAF Collection .On the the label for the wing he states: AFC Wing made for ex AFC members who were still serving in the Army or RAAF between 1930-45.I will post image shortly.Same type of manufacture, black background, red crown, similar style wreath .Will post image shortly.
