Some more buttons
Any help in identifying these buttons would be appreciated.
The first one, with the "11" on the front I suspect is Belgian. The Makers mark on the reverse is FONSO & CO BRUX. Any ideas as to its era? The second, with the flower and anchor has SF (in a triangle) on the reverse. I expect the anchor implies a nautical association. Is it perhaps just a sailing club jacket button. The third has the motto L'UNIO FAIT LA FORCE. Sounds very French but it seems a number of organisations use that motto. Could this be a military button or is it an association button of some kind? All suggestions appreciated. Donny |

Hi Donny,
I think your second button is: Japanese Navy. Best regards, Zob. |

I have just done some more searching and it appears that second button is, indeed, a Japanese Imperial Navy button........if the source that I found is correct......... as you suggested, Zob
I had considered that as a possibiliy but had decided against it because the flower did not look quite enough like a chrysanthemum and the mark on the back was not in Japanese characters. It seems that the flower on the front is a cherry blossom.......You learn something every day, eh! Donny |
