My new cap badge …..
Acquired my new cap badge while at a conference in Catterick yesterday….to be fair I’ll almost certainly stick with my hallmarked silver Queen’s Crown version for now…

One of the better King's Crown badges that i have seen (IMO). I can on the other hand fully understand why you would stick with your preferred badge.

Paul,
Is that an ‘approved and issued’ cap badge? What about new Tudor Crown collar badges for The Rifles? Tim

From my experience there will be a rush to get the new badge then a reverse demand to wear the old ones to show 'old sweat' status!

Hi Paul,
I think you should wear this new one and sell me your old defunct HM silver one Mark |

It was issued (I.e from stores), no packaging, given to me by a CQMS who knows if my interest in badges. Regarding collar badges, sorry no idea, the chances of me wearing any uniform that requires collar badges it that remote that it is outside my scope of interest ! Paul |

I agree with Alan too, certainly from the prospective of any new cap badges for my parent police service, the quality of which have been rubbish and getting worse for a couple of decades now. So whilst getting hold of a CIIIR cap badge interests me, unless the quality is on a par with the one I received first back in the 90’s, I won’t be switching out either. Cheers……John |

Paul, That is very cool however, and a real keeper just being yours and being issued with the KC!!! I would store it safely.
Thanks for sharing, Terry |

Badges all of the same construction and quality but that old sweat thing kicking in...... When the (Gaunt made I think) white metal badges turned up in surplus shops they were worn in lieu of chromed badges by ex squaddies. So, Paul, you're giving away that new badge then? |

Nothing at all on collars. I did find although not available yet a kc crown boss badge for the busby and the boss badge for the side hat. |

Unlike others that literally have the crown perched on top and don't look like part of the badge! Chris |

And it's all the more attractive in that it comes with provenance.

As The Rifles now have a new issued cap badge I asked about collar badges because the Army is now allowing up to eight years to complete the transition to Tudor crown badges and CIIIR ciphers. Ceremonial Branch Home Command are controlling and coordinating the process for the Army. The Household Division have priority for manufacture and issue. Tim
