Default 'MLI' collar or shoulder

I've come across this in a Royal Canadian Legion branch, A handwritten note says 'Middlesex Regiment', which no further information. I want to say Great War collar or shoulder title but... ?

Any possible connection to the 5th Battalion, Middlesex, who were Militia LI at one point?

Thanks in Advance for any assistance.

Peter

It is a shoulder title of The Middlesex Light Infantry (Canada), circa 1920-1936.
