1918 Suffolk Volunteer Battalion photo
This is currently on eBay and is very interesting because the subject appears to be wearing a VTC jacket with a 1908 pattern web belt and a Suffolk Regiment cap badge on a khaki cap.
Whilst not dated the mixture of uniform suggests to me that he is a former VTC member who is now a member of the Suffolk Volunteer Battalion circa 1918. The cap badge is the Regular pattern badge rather than the 1908 TF one. |

Are the medal ribbons from the Boer War?
A very interesting photo, this could explain many of the anomalies that have puzzled members regarding uniforms and badges. Rob |

I assumed they were Boer War but I am not a medal ribbons 'spotter'. It is an interesting mix of uniforms and the absence of any titles or patches to confirm his unit is a shame.
