Default Rounded to squared edged titles

I'm hoping someone can tell me when the change occurred from rounded edged titles to squared edges?

If my engrish isn't clear please see the attached photo.

Thanks

Paul

They did not change, some Regiments shoulder designations had round end and some square square.

I believe both were worn consecutively in some regiments (such as the Royal Sussex) where rounded ends were worn by Officers and squared ends by ORs.

Default Titles

There has been a tendency for the Guards Brigade to have rounded titles. During 1940-42 Line infantry battalions attached to Guards Brigades adopted the same feature on their unofficial cloth designations. I have always assumed that the Corps and Services attached to those Brigades followed suit.
