Default Gloucestershire Regiment TF and Norfolk

Good afternoon

I think that these are probably both fakes. The Norfolk by Gaunt does have the stamping in small script but with a dot and c:15mm length (so probably fake mark) not sure about the face. The Gloucester appears to have had the Egypt over stamped.

Opinions please.

Many thanks

Martyn

You lucky boy, two fake stamp marks on the Norfolk, that must be rare
There are a few points on the Norfolk that are bad but the double stamped face is weird, they don't even seem the same.
I doubt the Gloucesters started out life even as a genuine regulars badge before the Egypt was bashed out of the plinth.

Many thanks. Boot sale finds some years back. They are both strange especially when you look at the face of the Norfolk.

Indeed. I'm learning about these now but at the time I thought it was a bargain. I'm going through a box of badges that i put together years ago. Some are nice badges some are junk for sure.

I used to collect German until it became very difficult to identify good from bad so started on British cap badges thinking that it was better....... How wrong I was.

I have some German, acquired as a kid, but didn't delve deeply as I thought British badges were more consistent in manufacture, more 'reliable'.
I picked up more German stuff in more recent years, basic odds & ends like collar badges, single shoulder straps & the like, nothing rare, exotic or dripping with myth, swastikas & revisionism (well OK, I've got a postmans PT vest eagle & swastika badge), but I'm a bottom feeder with that stuff & so just don't aquire it nowadays.
Some of my 3R bits & pieces:

That looks like a nice collection of good quality original items. Love the helmet and the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe boards.
