Unsure of para wing..please help!

Hi, not sure what you are asking? Is the wing authentic? Is the wing the correct one to be found sewn on what appears to be a Denison? Could you add a bit of direction?

yes my apologies, forgot to press submit. it is on a denision but the wing looks to be post war. dosent look like it belongs?

is it a authentic wing? post war? the maple leaf looks newer then the war issue but not sure.

Is this another case of purchasing para wings committee? All that is needed now are voting buttons.

Perhaps a good start would be:

Should I spend my rent money on this Denison Smock with wings that I know noting about - yes - no.

To muddy waters, the Denison was worn well into the post-war era and it is possible that a soldier legitimately qualified and was awarded a parachute qualification wing that was post-war. There should not be an assumption that the wing has to be a wartime pattern to be correct on the smock. It is also possible that the jump wing was a replacement put on the tunic in the post-war era.

I believe Cpl692 is correct as this Canadian paratrooper wing is post war worn from about 1957 through 1971. Here is a photo of a mint example I've kept for reference.

Tonomachi, your example is scalloped across the bottom of the wing. I don't see any scalloping on the Denison example.

I believe it is a wartime wing. More info on the denison might also help establish some facts.

thanks for all the info guys. appreciate it greatly!! the Denison is coming from a lot that's being offered to me. its a very salty worn example. very dirty on the outside. the Canadian wing is on the left side above the breast pocket. on the right hand side there is a british qualified jumper wing....is this an odd make up or possiable to have obtained both wings?
I more so wanted the mk para helmet, but its being all sold as a lot. comes with the Denison the pants boots and kitbag. helmets are my thing..but this Denison has me confused. the date on the denision is 1945..whats left of the tag anyway.

To my eyes the Canadian paratrooper wing sewn on the Denison has been trimmed all the way around eliminating the lower original scalloping.
