Default Royal Northumberland Fusiliers

I would like to buy a sign with pictures but I have doubts. Maybe someone expressing his opinion?

Yes it look a good badge but the tip of the Dragons tail is missing and it could be a sil/gilt badge and may-be officers?? or just a good quality badge

This looks very much like a Birmingham Mint badge and a reproduction!

Hi Andy,

Without wishing to ' hi-jack ' this thread, I have an all gm badge in my WWI collection.

No-one has passed any remarks about it so far but should the badge be bi-metal ? as in your WWII version and if so, is mine an Economy Issue ??

Thanks in advance.

Dave.

Dave,
your badge is NF not RNF, the badge changed in 1935!

Peter,
I would not go near it... The better ones are those with the long sliders!

Many a Royal Northumberland Fusiliers officers' silver and gilt cap badge is to be found with a slider. Quite why it is grouped with Birmingham Mint badges I don't know. The officers of the RNF actually preferred sliders as the badge was worn in both the peaked and side caps and sliders fitted both. David

I do not believe that two of this Forums self acclaimed experts are calling this an officers badge What a poor example to set for others!

The RNF badge is one which has been faked to death, as I have already stated, the better examples have quite long sliders, whereas the one shown at the start of this thread is typical of the copies, it cannot be seen from the image, however they often have the overlaid device attached by a "rivet" like device!

I will supply some images in the morning!

Here is a NF officers badge which does have a slider, you will see that it differs from the standard slider found on ORs badges.. The ONLY other slidered badges I've seen have been on Brigade era badges and Yorks Vols!

Just my observations here, what is the substance below the torse and in between the horses legs?, has the white metal part been glued back on? also part of the Dragons tail is missing. good quality i dont think so,should have gone to spec savers lol
