Default Signal Service Territorial

It is my understanding that the Telegraph Bn became the RE Signal Service. Which in turn provided signal service communications during WW1.

So in looking at this title I would have expected to see RE as opposed to T. Would the Territorial unit have existed alongside and during the same period as RE/Signal Svc? Or are they one and the same unit?
thanks
Jack
