Default Regimental Identification and uniform badges.

Hello.

I am try to identify which Regiment the three brothers in the attached photos belonged to. They were from Bristol so I think it maybe the Gloucestershie Regiment.

I would also be interested to know what the badges on their uniforms denote.

Any help much appreciated.

Regards
Peter

As Paul says, the man at right is in a Canadian uniform. Many UK expats joined up in Canada. Once in Europe British uniforms tended to be issued because of the better supply chain.
In the other photo both, Tom and Jack have two wound stripes each, but the image is too small to ID their unit insignia.

Image 1;
Tom, right sleeve 3 overseas stripes.

Jack, Cpl chevrons or equivalent on both sleeves. Left sleeve Trade (?) above 2 or possibly 3 wound stripes.

Arthur, Left sleeve, Trade (possibly LG ?) above a single good conduct badge above 2 wound stripes. Right sleeve, possibly overseas stripes.

Difficult to see.

Hello Peter, Agreed, the image on the right shows the Cdn pattern 7 button service dress. Is it possible to get a close-up image of the collars and cap badge?

Hi Everyone, thank you for the helpful replies. John Francis Elliott, known as Jack was believed to have served in the Gloucesters. I have found somebody by that name with the rank of corporal in the 1/4th Gloucestershire Regiment. Would that be him? The other two brothers I can find no record of in the Gloucesters, but the uniforms appear to be the same. Is there any way I can confirm they are Gloucestershire Regiment?

Thank you identifying the Canadian Uniform, I will try and get an enhanced picture of the badges.

Once again, many thank for all your help.

Regards
Peter
