Default Fusilier Dereh Kinne GC, 1 RNF

Those who are inspired by the courage of "ordinary" soldiers should read the obituary of Fus Derek Kinne GC, 1 RNF in today's Daily Telegraph. Having completed his National Service he rejoined the Army and volunteered for Korea because his brother had been killed there, serving in 1 A&SH. He was captured on the Imjin and spend two years and four months in captivity, much of it in solitary confinement. In my opinion, a genuine hero (that much over-used term). Mike

His autobiography Wooden Boxes is good, he doesn't even milk his GC to sell it. Author simple Derek Kinne.
