Essex Regt
This badge was bought in the early 1990s. It has sweat holes and has the feel of a genuine badge (see pics), but has a 15mm J.R.Gaunt.London stamp on the slider. Everything I've read on the forum says a badge with this stamp is a fake, but I've also heard sweat holes on fakes are fairly recent. Any opinions appreciated.

The combination of 2 oval holes and 2 circular ones are a known fake. This is not the only badge to have fake braze holes but the mark is indeed 100% fake.

If the central tower is cut into the top plinth it's a wrong badge IMO
