R.A.F CLOTH BADGES TO ID
Hi Gents,
Picked these up at the local junk store yesterday and could do with someone to ID them for me please. 1. Badge has the word "Mauritius" on it and is approx. 3 inches long. I am hoping this maybe something to do with 174 ( Mauritius) Sqn R.A.F. It certainly has some age to it. 2. two badges cut from a tunic with 14F on the cloth badge? Any help will be greatly received! Many Thanks in advance. Colin |

14F (Northolt) Squadron Air Training Corps (ATC), one of the founding squadrons when they came into being out of the Air Defence Cadet Corps.

Colin,
I think the shoulder title is to the WW2 raised Mauritius Regiment, not the RAF. regards

Hi Gents,
I hadn't thought about the Mauritius Regt!. This sent me delving into Barry Renfrews excellent " British Colonial Badges Vol 2 where there are shoulder titles to the Mauritius Regt but clearly different to the one I have posted. The reason I thought this maybe something to do with the R.A.F was that it was with a small collection of other R.A.F bits n bobs where I found it. As always your opinions are welcomed. I would hazard a guess that it may be a shoulder title as worn by RAF officers as the backing cloth (what I can see of it!) looks like RAF blue/grey.
