Default Intelligence Collection

These small items were acquired by various means during "Confrontation" (early/mid 1960s), in Belize/Guatemala in the early 1980 and in my final job in uniform in Kathmandu 2001. TNKU - Tentara Nasional Kalimantan Utara (so called North Kalimantan National Army), TNI - Tentara Nasional Indonesia (Indonesian National Army, The numeral 5 indicates West Java and 09 = 9 Bn, 18 =18 Bn. The title BTP/BRAWI remains unidentified.
On the Guatemalan side - the expansion of ZMGASM is Zona Militar General A... S.... M... (a name) - I think it's the badge of some military training establishment within the Military Zone. On the grenade badge Ixcanul is a place name and Tigres is Tiger Coy. Similarly Poptun is a town near the border with Belize - and Diablos - Devils Coy. These were collected by the Field Int WO (Ted SNU) though his contacts with the "Guats" - he traded them for repro UK SF badges (including 3 SAS and 4 SAS titles) hinting that all these trained killers were lurking in Western Belize. Plausible deterrence courtesy of Nick Hall in Portsmouth! e
The crossed kukris was, as I recall , worn by the locally engaged Guard Force at HQ British Gurkhas Nepal, Kathmandu.
The expansion of BTP/BRAWI would be very welcome. Mike
