Default Green Felt for Badge Backup

What sort of felt was used to back up cap badges? I would like make up a cap as pictured. I have a GS Cap, and the Worcestershire Regiment badge, need felt for backing. Also was the felt backed up with any other material or just sewn on as is. Any help would be appreciated.
