Hi Ron,

many, many thanks for persevering with this one. It certainly was a bit of an anomalie. I will now annotate my notes to reflect period and maker. I have still not seen another anywhere.

I was toying with the idea of putting together a pictorial timeline of the 48th badges with dates, makers and a bit for extra notes when required, but I am at a loss of where to start, any tips or pointers?

Thanks again, Bill

Your very welcome Bill, i wanted to learn more about it as well. There are a lot of cast made badges for the 48th it sems.

The short answer to your question is don't do it, you will drive your self crazy. 😀

I have been at it for many years and all the time i am seeing new variations of the 48th badges and end up with more questions than answers.
I can only sudjest start with the basics, take lots of notes, keep pictures of all the variations you come across, look for as many period pictures you can find and please share the information you find.
I am also going to try a similar endeavor. Get all the variations i can find, try and date the timefame they were used, makers and what ever history i come across.

I wish us both luck.
