Default ID if possible please

I got the attached in a job lot and will look to clear it at some time but would like to be able to describe it accurately and price it realistically when I do

If anyone out there has (and is happy to share) knowledge, could you tell me what is it, what period is it likely to be from, is it likely to be genuine or repro & what sort of price would be fair to charge for it

Many Thanks
Ray

Default 7 Armd Bde

It's the sign of British 7 Armd Bde - worn in this form in Italy and Austria 1944-45. Because of the Brigade's service in Burma in early 1942, the green jerboa was known colloquially as the "Jungle Rat". I have two genuine examples - neither has the black backing and both are embroidered on far more dense white felt. But I think that yours is genuine. There's an interesting Italian-made variation on this sign - produced in a hurry prior to the King's visit to Eighth Army because stocks of the Ordnance issue sign had run out - image to follow.

Default Jungle Rats

The lower example is that locally - and hurriedly - made in Italy prior to the King's visit to Eighth Army.
