Default A few badges..

Recently had the opportunity of picking up some badges from a fellow collector. I try to collect only silver, ideally hallmarked, though it does become a little expensive a times. This was a good deal, part cash, part exchange and part deferred payment. So thought i would go for it.

Thought I would share with the forum

The Residency, Lucknow with all those strike marks in the walls is superb. Was the badge with the crossed dahs (dahs?) and scroll KACHINS worn by a WW2 anti-Japanese Guerrilla organisation ? Mike

The crossed dahs is the 85th Burma Rifles. Post ww1 one of its battalions was redsignated the 3rd (Kachin) Bttln, 70 Burma Rifles.. it served in the Moplah Uprising in 1921 - I think it must also have had some Chins serving in it. I have an IGS-08 with clasp Malabar named to the Chin-Kachin Battn.

In 1923 it became the 3 (Kachin) Battn, 20 Burma Rifles. I think the badge was adopted post 1921.
