British columbia regiment caps, brass and missing ba
I picked these up the other day. If i recall i talked to someone in the regiment about ten years ago and they claimed the cap with the missing south africa battle honour was that for the officers as there were no officers from the unit in sa? Can anyone confirm this? Also does anyone know what the brass cap was used for? This is the first one i have come across

Sounds like regimental myth. The badge with the missing battle honour was approved in 1930. It was an omission and the BCR's applied for a new badge to correct the error. It was the SA battle honour type approved in 1939. The pattern missing the SA honour was produced in sterling for the DCOR's and worn by the officers during the SWW.
