I also blew it up as far as I could, and I'm going to nail my colours to it being Cheshires - the central star of the Worcesters is smaller and finer than this and the circlet around the Lion/FIRM usually shows up; looks like the acorn and leaves of the Cheshire badge to me.

The more I look at it, the more I think that it is Worcestershire, the shape of the ends of the scroll and I think the 'firm' scroll is barely visible, but there.
Look at this example from Northeast medals:

For what my opinion is worth, I think it is The Worcestershire Regiment. I agree that the cap badge looks a little like The Cheshire Regiment, but looking at the badges and images in my collection, the Cheshire badge has distinctly upturned ends to the scrolls, whereas the scroll ends to the Worcestershire badge is more horizontal. That and the Shoulder Titles.
Nice pic. by the way Last edited by Nozzer; 04-03-15 at 10:24 AM. |

Worcestershire Regiment from my collection.
Hope it is of some help? Last edited by Nozzer; 17-02-18 at 10:24 PM. |
