10th Light Horse (Western Australian Mounted Rifles) variations - 1930 to 42
Just to kick this area off...
10th Light Horse (Western Australian Mounted Rifles) hat badge variations - 1930 to 1942 Brass, Gilt and Oxidised. The oxidised one was worn from around 1940 to 1942. Example of it being worn: Mick |

Did the variation in the finish of the badges serve a purpose?
Are they all by the same maker? Donny B. |

Hi Donny,
I think you will find that all the oxidised badges for the 10th Light Horse (and other units of the period) were made after the declaration of war in 1939 and only worn for a short period of time (and in my opinion rarer than say a brass version). I have seen 10th Light Horse badges with maker's names (SS and Son) and some without. Mick |
