Default Int Corps

A trio - one of which was produced by a UK tailor who was very quick off the mark. He assumed, incorrectly, that as soon as the Cypress Green beret was introduced there would be a demand for them. He was wrong - years passed with officers wearing a Service Dress collar badge in their berets. I'm sure Green and Grey Acorn can supply the dates. I managed to avoid wearing a wire embroidered badge - but put these in my collection. Mike

My Platoon Commander in an infantry battalion in NI 1973-75 was an Int Corps subaltern, he wore "our" dark blue beret with an Int Corps black painted silver collar badge.
(As shown in this documentary from 1974, about 4.40 minutes in:

None at all, I'm sure! I think the badge in the centre is the one that jumped the Corps Dress Regulations gun. Mike

Very good. Do you recall his name? By my count it's at 5 mins 43 secs - and I think it is a full size OR's badge. Mike

I'll PM the name to you.
He wore a collar badge in the beret, (perhaps not at the time the footage was taken) somewhere I'll have photos showing it in wear, including of it being worn upside down (er........no names no pack drill).
I haven't checked through for "sightings" other than the one that appears on my phone at 4.40 in.
He also appears later in the documentary carrying a SLR with a forward grip attached by jubilee clip & with a LMG mag, riding in a pig while a few kids throw stones.

Here is the one I have uncertainly ID'd. Welsh by type, but for whom I cannot certainly say, or even period of wear.

At the risk of running off topic here, and realizing this is a pocket patch, it was the first British badge I had ever found some 20 odd years ago. Have always been taken by the appearance of the wire embroidery on this badge. With wire embroidery being a common "thread" of this topic.

thanks
Jack

A lovely badge and to a Welsh regiment so always good to see IMO.

Some combination bullion and metal RWF badges, collars and cap.

Lovely badges Jerry.
The new Royal Welsh collars are way too big for the FAD collar. Need to be made smaller.

Perhaps Mike, always something of a mystery apart from being a Welsh type dragon.
