Picked up these two albums awhile back.
Not sure if they are both related.
One has the mans name and is full of photos from Egypt ect.
The other has no writings and is full of planes and group photos ect.

Took a few shots of the Egypt album and a few more from the other.

Curious about the numbers on the aircraft, if they are be identified as trainers and from where? Are the aircraft WW1 or just after?

There is one photo in the very back of a German plane (I left out).

Hi Vix
A magnificent collection :
As far as I can see there are no training aircraft, all are front line Service aircraft including several SE5s, Sopwith Camels, and a Handley Page and & DH4 bombers etc. The German aircraft is a Fokker D.VII.(single seat fighter) and another (two seater) I cannot identify off the top of my head. A very historic record of the RFC/RAF in a relatively "quiet" part of the conflict. Congratulations on an excellent purchase. Regards Jeff

Good heavens, I really don't think there was anything "quiet" about time spent at Bruay in 40 Squadron, even just the few weeks, Alfred Adamson served before the armistice.

Sorry Frank, I was referring mainly to the war in the air compared to the Western Front. But, as you say there was much fierce fighting in the Middle East. Sorry if I appear to have "down-played" this terrible war in that theatre. Many brave men (and women) lost there. Apologies & Regards Jeff

Just a quick attempt to identify the aircraft in your pics :
First group of four ; SE5As
next group (after the balloons); poss Avro 504 & DH4, SE5, German Aviatak, DH4
crashed SE5A, Fokker DVII,
another Fokker DVII, and I think a Handley Page bomber
C315 Sopwith Camel, C182 Sopwith Camel (Fighters)
Sopwith Camel
Sopwith Camel
Handley Page Bomber
C9618 SE5A fighter
As far as I can tell all are circa 1917-18 WW1 pictures.

I'd be amazed if the majority of the photographs shown in the original post, other than the two captioned "Bedouin" had actually been taken anywhere remotely near the Middle East given their content!

Yes you are probably right Frank. On looking again at the crashed SE5, this looks like the markings of 40 Squadron RAF ... so, once again profuse apologies for my rather hasty conclusions. Jeff

The comments were the reason why I was wondering if both albums belonged to the same man. I kinda thought they were two unrelated albums.

There was more photos, if anyone wants I can post more from each.

Here are some more additional photos from the one album.

Sorry for the poor pics, I always find it hard photographing photos!

There still are more photos of men in group shots, destroyed buildings, a few naval ships ect.

Hi all
Am being a little more cautious with my replies this time after my recent (embarrassing) faux-pas. However, I can confirm that the SE5A in photo 2 has the zig-zag markings of 40 Squadron RAF. So, as Frank says, the majority of these photos were probably taken on the Western Front. Many thanks for posting these most interesting photos. Jeff
