Post ww2 Airborne Helmet with Flash
This helmet turned up today locally and i couldn't pass it by.
Straight from his nephew a Mk3 para helmet with chin strap that appears to be dated 1955 and helmet liner dated 1956. has the number 15 in white paint on both front and back and the flash is for the 16th Parachute Brigade. The jumpers name is Anthony Belk and he was at one time a Sergeant. There's no specific anecdote the nephew could recall as he didn't speak much about his service other than he was in the middle east. The Nephew also said he was from Leamington Spa. I have no reason to doubt the provenance but i can't seem to find any similarly marked helmet online. Can anyone give me an idea of when this configuration would have been used? Cheers Chris |

Is the flash not that of 16 Parachute Ordnance Field Park (16 Para OFP)? There's OF visible in the helmet lining. Mike
