Default eBay gets personal

Hi guys

Received my purchase from an unknown eBay'er today, and it warmed my heart to see the sticker on the reverse of the envelope ("Love you"), and it was further warmed when I discovered my card had been secured within in a rather nice Christmas card! A bit off season, but what the hey!

Take heed all you sellers - a personal touch goes a long way!

Distant relationships never work out, so don't even think about it.

I bought a book from the bay the other day and the sellers message to me started;

Hi Mothers, thanks for bidding on and winning ..........

Previously I bought some photos and the seller sent them inside some old German confirmation cards, probably just a cheap form of cardboard packing. No LOVE YOU sticker though.

1. Hey, Colin, you're in there

2. Now it gets very spooky... I've been to the actual church that card is based on. (Only to photograph it..) It's in Maine, and the guidebook took us there as we were chasing Fall colours...

But yes, a little civility and kindness makes a happy buyer...

Jerry - what kind of books exactly are you buying?
Btw. some of those confirmation cards have little pockets inside for monetary gifts (at least the Norwegian ones do) Check to see there aren't any Marks floating around before tossing them out

In like Flynn, I am
You're welcome to the Christmas card if you want it. If not it'll be redistributed next Christmas
The sticker I'm saving for someone special

Colin, the book was THE WAR THE INFANTRY KNEW by J.C Dunn.

The cards had no pockets for money that I could see, sadly!

It is a great read Colin and as I was replacing my paperback copy which lost its cover recently and I upgraded to a hardback version I have already read it. Possibly the best book on the great war from the view of those who served.
