Lambourne marks
I am posting this thread on Lambourne badges, showing what is on the sliders of these badges:
The Cambridgeshire Regt. (Bi-metal): LAMBOURNE & CO (underscored "O") BIRMINGHAM King's Royal Rifles, KC B/Brass: LAMBOURNE & CO (NO underscored "O") BIRMINGHAM Norfolk Regt, pre 1937 Bim: LAMBOURN BIRMING (This strike on the slider is so bad that this is all that is visible, there are no brazing holes and the scroll which is overlaid is slightly buckled). Lancashire Fusiliers, Bim: LAMBOURNE'S BIRMINGHAM (This stamp is indistinct towards the end) Northamptonshire Regt, Post 1902 three turret castle, Bim: LAMBOURNE & CO (NO underscored "O") BIRMINGHAM (This badge has a clipped slider and no brazing holes) Norfolk Regt shoulder title: LAMBOURNE & CO (underscored "O") BIRMINGHAM None of these badges were bought online nor recently, the reason I have put this thread together is that I would be interested in others opinions, there does seem to be variations in Lambournes slider stamps, forum members comments would be welcomed. The difficulty here is that none of the badge designs can be specifically dated to a year or even decade so it is impossible to put them in any form of sequence. I presume that the Norfolks is the 1908 pattern before the 'Royal' title changed the design. That still leaves 30years plus for minor changes to be made to their mark. Unless anyone has researched the company's business years, then it is difficult to narrow it down.
The one piece SLancs that I have is LAMBOURNE & CO (underscored "O") BIRMINGHAM. If it is an economy then that dates it to 1916-19 but if it is 1920s then that does not help much. Alan

I can give you some KLR examples.
a 1st WW type of pattern 6342A/1896 (ie worn c. 1915-26) with both LAMBOURNE’S / BIRMINGHAM and LAMBOURNE & Co / BIRMINGHAM Both have two distinctive features that I have not seen on any other King's badge of this type and I'm convinced they are genuine. I do know of a one piece 5th Bn 1908 pattern badge but have not examined the inscription. There is a 6th Bn badge with LAMBOURNE & Co / BIRMINGHAM. Now the Lambourne versions of this badge have a distinct feature too that you can actually see on photographs of soldiers from the 1st WW. Lastly, I know of a 1939 pattern 8th Bn badge made by Lambourne but again, regretably, I have not seen the reverse.

Being a badge horder and let me state my case because people will then know wear i am at.Collect edged wepons and in collecting 20 years have just picked up badges on the way.Never had the time to study badges ,ie fakes ,restrikes and the other so can i just say.
this thread just BRILLIANT

I can add a flag left (pre 1926) Inniskilling Fusiliers to the list.
Shall dig it out tomorrow to assertain the exact mark. Luke I also have a BM Lambourne Norfolk. Both the Inniskilling Fusiliers and Norfolk don't have braze holes... perhaps it would also be worth noting this or any other indicative construction features?
