Default AAC and Parachute Regt. Cap Badges - New Acquisitions

Here are some new badges I got. The Parachute Regt. cap badge is brass but since the inner feathers are not curved I guess it is a repro? The AAC cap badge however I believe to be OK, but I differ to those that know better than I.

The AAC is the oft seen repro but unusually, this one has been fitted with lugs. Give me a minute and I'll get back to you about the Para badge.

Cheers,

Ok, I'm no expert on the Para badge but I believe that those with the die-flaw (circled) are repros - I'm sure someone like Luc will be able to confirm this.

Cheers,

Kev C

Thanks Kev,

I expected the Para badge to be repro and was OK with it for what I have planned to do with it but I am dissapointed about the AAC badge. Can you please point out why it is a repro and what I should look for?

Denis

Hi Denis,

Sorry about the AAC, originals aren't that uncommon so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a good one.

If you care to use the forum's search facility then there are plenty of originals shown here - I myself posted a thread about the die-struck AAC a short time ago. Attached is a photo of one.

Cheers,

Kev C

Denis, I'm afraid Kev is correct about both your badges.

You will find a number of good examples in my album too:
