Default Another 1 Can Para Officer's Badge - opinions?

Saw this for sale on evilbay. I suspect it may be a modern repro from Joe Drouin but the seller lists it as original and will accept returns. Opinions please?

Denis

Hi Denis, as for this badge, all I can say is of all the officer's badges I have seen, all were made by Scully, and had a maker's mark (W.Scully/Montreal). This one is not marked, so unless says otherwise, I would say COPY a very bad copy.

the back;the REAL ONE

At 15 pounds it may serve as a gap filler.

I used to think this way. However, I have since changed my mind. We had a very good discussion about this topic a while back. I came to understand that using a fake or reproduction as a filler badge will, in all likelihood, cast doubt on many of the rarer original badges in a collection.

I was using a Unit Reunion badge as a filler for my 8th REECE badge.

YES THIS BADGE IS A TERRIBLE FAKE, REPRODUCTION OR WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE TO CALL IT.

I disagree people would cast doubt on an entire collection just because of a gap filler, but that is not the subject.

Here is another "interesting" variation of the parachute corps cap badge that you do not wish to add to your collection, brought to you by a seller you do not wish to do business with.

Another repro variety. This one in a gun metal finish. I wonder if they are repro'ing the fantasy Can Para badge that came on the market about a year ago?

I wouldn't call it a repro, it's more like an utter fantasy piece. Like the bronze cast AAC cap badge with folding blades he just sold.

Hi Luc, The badge appears to be a repro of this fantasy badge. The fantasy badge appeared on the market here in Canada about a year ago. http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...hute+battalion
