Default 17th Lancers ww1 motto help

Hi fellas , can anyone give me any information on how to spot a ww1 motto for the 17th lancers. There are that many variants and copies . I have trawled through the website but i'm struggling to find anything definitive. A link or maybe pics ?
Any help greatly appreciated

Smile WW 1 Mottoes.

Woznotwos

Its hard enough for those of us that collect Mottoes. What can be stated is that a Motto with 2 lugs and "Ears", ie small protrusions on the side of the skull are pre WW1. Also the large sized collars go with the Motto with lugs. The Motto can also be found with ears and sliders and these are also early.

Generally the ones with the long and "flat" nose are early and could be up to amalgamation in 1922.

I hope that this helps.

Just buy a basic Victorian rankers cap badge, they were famously, in wear, on the 14th of February 1900 as well as the wretched 17th of September, the following year and certainly were, both worn and issued well beyond that.
Very simple badges, they remain inexpensive and very common indeed.
