Default Veteran's Corps but whose?

I cannot seem to find any information about this cap badge-shoulder title and button. They may be Canadian as they came in a job lot with some WW2 Canadian badges and buttons.

The button has a long history on e-bay.
In april 2018 it was listed as a 'Boer War Reserve Regiment' and it was mentioned as coming in "black horn with rim" as well.

Default Veterans Corps

I have had this shoulder title for 30+ years and would be interested in positive identification.
