Default MTP Falcon patch help.

Can anyone ID this modern patch, Velcro backed. Is this worn by soldiers of the Royal Logistic Corps?
Thanks Tony.

Hi Tony

It is the Merlin formation sign of 15 (North East) Brigade.

On 1 January 1982, 15 Infantry Brigade was reformed at Topcliffe in North Yorkshire as part of the Army restructuring plan and with 24 and 49 Infantry Brigades on 1 January 1983 constituted 2nd Infantry Division. This Division had a NATO role and acted as the
reinforcement division for 1st British Corps.

The Brigade Headquarters moved from Topcliffe to Imphal Barracks in York in November
1992. Following the Government’s Strategic Defence Review in 1998 the Brigade was
retitled 15 (North East) Brigade.

On the 1 December 2014 the Brigade was merged with 4th (Mechanized) Brigade to form Headquarters 4th Infantry Brigade and Headquarters North East based at Catterick Garrison.

Tony, as a formation sign (badge) it could be worn by a soldier of any cap badge serving in that formation. The Regimental or Corps Tactical Recognition Flash (TRF) would be worn on the other arm MTP blanking plate.
