Cool Crownless KRRC

This badge came along with a few others a few weeks ago, at first I thought it was broken, but closer inspection shows that the crown has been very carefully removed.

Was it worn by an anti-monarchist?

Thoughts appreciated . . !

Rob

There was a thread on these have similar to the KRRC, the 6th KRRC, and a Westminster Rifles KRRC.

If I remember rightly it was done 1st WW to prevent the Crown interferring with the Soft issue cap? Will see if I can locate the thread, but was something along those lines, all the best billy

It may have been on a Trophy belt at some point, sometime bits are cut off badges to make them fit better?

I agree with Rob, I've a number of badges brought together which had been removed from a trophy/hate belt which had been "trimmed" to fit.
