Default Motto, 1950s, Named.

Hi All

I was fortunate to find this the other day and with a bit of assistance from Mac we have identified the Lancer

This is a 1950s Gaunt Motto with the factory MMd slider removed and a named copper slider added onto the stump of the old with a blob of solder.

Sgt Buckle was in Command Troop HQ Sqn for a couple of years 1954/5 and then moved onto C Squadron.

Well done Griff,

Just goes to show with all the junk out there, these little treasures can still turn up.

Cracking job...!

Cheerio,

Roy

Default Named badge

I had an Essex cap badge that was so heavily polished it went through the overlays, it also had the word "BASTARD" on the slider, I donated it to Keith Hook for his Essex collection.

It found a good home . . !

Hi Griff

I thought that the Motto was Macks and sent him a whole lot of info on Buckle, he was in HQ Sqdn, A Sqdn and ended up in the Sherwood Rangers Yeo, all extracted from my collection of White Lancers. Theres also a photo that I will scan and send to you, probably tomorrow as its getting late

Regards Phil.
