SASR wearing a slouch hat
Here's something rarely seen - members of the Special Air Service Regiment wearing a slouch hat with the SASR colour patch.
Only worn on promotion courses. The SASR members are in the right side of the picture (you only get a side view). Mick

Good photo Mick.
I guess future researchers should be able to date these photos by the trousers that show the change over from the old pale 'polys' to the new darker Service Dress (not unlike the colour worn in WWII by U.S. service men). Reminds me of the change over from Howard Green jumpers to the DPCU version. (That is going back one or two years -LOL). And don't get me started on boots! Oz. |
