CWAC uniforms
Hi, I've a 1945 dated Canadian battledress with PPCLI titles that I believe to be original. It also has marks from removed Canada strips, 3rd infantry division badges, and service chevrons. So far so good.
However it is a tiny size and has the name Joan written in the collar. Is there any chance it belonged to a CWAC? I've seen pics of wartime CWACs in battledress sporting a variety of regimental insignia. Would CWACS serving with the Princess Pats have worn their insignia? Thanks, Burton |

Nope, no chance that a CWAC would wear PPCLI badges. Also no CWACs were 'attached' to an infantry regiment during the SWW, I don't even think they served at Brigade level.

During the Second WW, the CWAC overseas only filled admin roles at higher formation levels. Army or Army Group.
During the Second WW, the PPCLI was in 1 Canadian Infantry Division.

Great thanks. Yes indeed 1st Division, my mistake. I've got 3rd on my brain from a different research project.
